A Professional Real Estate Virtual Assistant must demonstrate a work history in some aspect(s) of the real estate industry. The VA is selected by his or her peers to carry this designation.
Most VAs are unlicensed assistants, which means they have limited authority and work under the direction of the agent. MOST state laws prevent unlicensed VAs from:
- Showing property
- Negotiating terms of the contract, addendums and counteroffers.
- Explaining terms or answering questions regarding listings, contracts or any other real estate documents.
- Making representations or discussing services of the agent or real estate agency.
- Accepting payments based on commissions, splits, or referral fees.
- Hosting an open house.
Preparing and disseminating marketing materials or contract documents without prior approval of agent.
